Painted Paddocks

A 12 year labour of love. Three acres of rundown, goat-trodden paddocks, sheds and falling-down fences were slowly transformed with giant bobcats, excavators, masses of soil, new dams and the sweep of a hand to direct the gardens into the curves they follow today.

The paddocks were literally ‘painted’ with plants: over 400 Gardenia Floridas, 200 Pennisetum Dwraf Burgundy and many more, creating a palette of white, orange and burgundy alongside new and old Poinciana trees.

This was my retreat until March 2014: a place full of memories and a garden, despite all its beauty, still couldn¹t beat the view nature created.
